Who is the hero?
2019-20, Ink, watercolor and acrylic on paper
This series investigates the aspects of familiar everyday visuality. I appropriate, decontextualize and juxtapose forms and images from the popular iconography, particularly those of the Disney imagery. The childhood identity through the popular imagery emerges as a bright and busy aesthetic that promise happiness and prosperity. The artworks functions as memory signs that question contemporary society's values through the deconstruction of the narrative device of the images (watercolor and ink on paper, 76x56.5cm, 2020).
